Wallace Wurth Biomechanics Fit-out

New biomechanics laboratory fitout enhances research and teaching
The transformation of rooms G31 to G38 in the Wallace Wurth Building has delivered a cutting-edge biomechanics laboratory, purpose-built to support teaching, learning and advanced research in human movement and physical rehabilitation.Â
The existing consultation rooms and physiotherapy lab were demolished and reconfigured into a large, open-plan laboratory space equipped with industry-leading motion capture and measurement technology. The new facility features a ceiling mounted flexible system supporting eight Valkyrie motion capture cameras and a three-force plate system embedded withing a purpose-built pit.Â
Designed as a hybrid RATS/CATS room, the lab supports both research and teaching activities across disciplines. The project was delivered on time and under budget through close collaboration with biomechanics staff, Learning Environments, Facilities Management, and UNSW Engineers.
