Library Archives

Library archives upgraded for secure art and book storage
The lower ground floor of the UNSW Library (F21) has been transformed into a fit-for-purpose archive and art storage space, enhancing the University’s capacity to securely preserve important collections. The space is now equipped to receive books relocated from levels 2 to 14 of the library, along with artwork across UNSW’s campuses.
Delivered over a 15-month program, the project focused on creating stable environmental conditions essential for long-term storage. This was achieved through the installation of advanced air conditioning and dehumidification systems, along with targeted building upgrades. The works were delivered in close coordination with staff from the Library and the Records & Archives teams, UNSW Art and UNSW engineers.
