CATS and RATS Stage 2
Enhancing learning spaces across Kensington campus
UNSW Estate Management is in the final stages of Stage 2 of the centrally allocated teaching spaces (CATS) program, a major initiative focused on upgrading and enhancing teaching and learning spaces across the Kensington campus.Â
This stage of the program continues the University’s investment in high-quality, inclusive, and flexible teaching spaces that support innovative pedagogy and improve the learning experience for students and academics.Â
This project is being delivered in close collaboration with academic faculties and key stakeholders across UNSW to ensure that the design of each space aligns with actual teaching needs.
The final work is scheduled for completion by June 2025.Â

The project involves upgrades to a range of centrally allocated teaching spaces across multiple buildings on campus. Works include:

- Refurbished furniture and flexible layouts to support collaborative learning.

Once complete, the upgraded teaching spaces will deliver:

- Consistent AV and digital interfaces across teaching rooms.
- Improved comfort, functionality, and aesthetics.
- Learning environments that support blended, in-person and interactive modes of teaching.Â
