Project overview
The refurbishment of 14 and 22 Arthur Street focused on breathing new life into two residential properties while preserving their original character and enhancing long-term sustainability.Â
Commencing in April 2024 and handed over in January 2025, the project included a comprehensive internal and external upgrade, removing internal finishes, selected walls, and damaged surfaces to prepare the homes for restoration. Each property was fitted with modernised bathrooms and kitchens, built-in wardrobes, new mechanical systems, and upgraded lighting. The existing timber floors were carefully sanded and finished to retain their character and historical appeal, and were retained throughout the homes, except in the bathrooms and kitchens, where new tiled flooring was installed for durability and practicality. Â
Extensive external works were also delivered, including new fencing that enhanced both functionality and street appeal.Â
This project reflects the University’s commitment to sustainability. A range of energy-efficient systems and fixtures were installed to reduce environmental impact and lower long-term running costs.Â
