What is an honorary degree or fellowship?
An honorary degree is awarded to individuals in recognition of outstanding service to UNSW, society and/or academia. This includes transforming knowledge in a specific field, social impacts, advancing important causes and significant benefaction to UNSW.Â
An honorary fellowship is awarded to individuals in recognition of notably continuous involvement with, and service to, UNSW. This includes promoting the University's academic purposes, fostering links between UNSW and other institutions, increasing education opportunities for disadvantaged people to enter UNSW and more.
