Find Me Print user manual

Find Me Print allows you to release & collect your print jobs - only when you’re ready - simply by swiping your UNSW ID card at any Find Me Print enabled printer. Find Me Print will minimise waste and protect your sensitive information. Your printing jobs can stay in a virtual print queue "FindMe" for up to 24 hours until you release them.
With Find Me Print, you can:

Already have a UNSW ID card? You're almost ready!
Your existing UNSW ID card works with Find Me Print. All you need to do is register once at any Find Me Print-enabled printer (see "First-Time Setup" below).
On a UNSW computer?
Find Me Print should already be installed or will install automatically when you connect to the UNSW network.
Using your own device?
You'll need to install the Find Me Print queue:
- On campus: Connect to UNSW Wi-Fi
- Off campus: Connect to UNSW VPN first
- Access the self-service portal:Â
- Windows: Search for "Company Portal" in your start menu
- Mac: Open the "Self Service" app
Search for "Find Me Print" and follow the installation instructions
First-Time setup
The first time you use Find Me Print, you'll need to register your ID card:
- Go to any Find Me Print-enabled printer
- Swipe your UNSW ID card at the card reader
- Enter your zID (without the @ad.unsw.edu.au) and password
- Tap "Log In"
That's it! Your card is now registered with the system

Step 1: Send your document to the queue
- From any application, select Print
- Choose "FindMe" as your printer
- Click Print
Your document is now waiting in the virtual queue for up to 24 hours.
Step 2: Collect your document
- Go to any Find Me Print-enabled printer on campus
- Swipe your UNSW ID card
- Select "Print Release" on the touchscreen
- Choose the document(s) you want to print
- Tap "Print"

Need to scan a document? Find Me Print makes it easy:
- Swipe your UNSW ID card at any Find Me printer
- Place your document on the scanner
- Select "Scan" on the touchscreen
- Choose your preferred option:Â
- Email: Basic PDF (larger file size)
- Email - (Comp Only): Compressed PDF to save inbox space
- Email - (Search + Comp): Compressed PDF with searchable text
The scan will be sent directly to your UNSW email address

- Swipe your UNSW ID card at any Find Me printer
- Place your document on the scanner
- Select "Copy/Scan to Email"
- Adjust any settings (color, size, etc.)
- Press the green Start button

Can I still use my regular departmental printer?
Yes! Find Me Print is an additional option that doesn't replace existing printing methods.
Can someone print on my behalf?
Yes, but they'll need authorization. Ask your school/faculty administrator to submit a delegation request.
What if I forget my password at the printer?

Will I be charged differently for using Find Me Print?
No, the charging system remains the same as your current departmental arrangements.
