
Vartan Bal is a PhD Candidate at the School of Marketing, UNSW Business School. His research explores how extreme weather conditions influence consumer preferences and behavior, with a particular focus on music consumption and mental health. Prior to his PhD, Vartan completed a Master of Pre-Doctoral Business Studies at UNSW with High Distinction and holds an MSc in Business Administration from the University of Cologne. He also spent a semester abroad at the University of Sydney. Vartan brings industry experience from Deloitte, Telekom Strategy Consulting, and the electromobility sector, combining academic rigor with practical insight into marketing, M&A, and strategic communication. He is passionate about impactful, socially relevant research that bridges behavioural science and sustainability.
